Polly Gessell has been enhancing and challenging her skills as a
craftsman for over 20 years.
Her sand blasted and carved glass pieces run the gamut from delicate
stemware to architecturally sturdy walls to any and all glass and stone pieces
in between. Her style, which is frequently geometric and abstract, is set forth
in sharp, clear-cut lines with great attention to detail. She has worked with
incredible designers and architects, each one leaving a lesson in the creative
mix, the result of which is work that retains magic and joy for the artist and
the viewer.
Her works are
found in private collections throughout the world. Her restaurant and hotel
work is admittedly where her heart finds its greatest satisfaction because
utility transmutes to art. Her client list includes such luminaries as the
restaurants of Barbara Lazaroff & Wolfgang Puck, the American Gem Trade
Association (Specifically one-of-a-kind awards for the Spectrum Competitions),
Mary Kay Cosmetics, Rolex Corporation, American Airlines, the Four Seasons
Hotels, and the National Football League's Houston Texans.
